    Hi Guys,
I have recently moved back to the small hamlet of kidderminster near birmingham from the little village of london and have restarted my chalkboard signwriting business.

After many queries and requests from customers i have started to signwrite traditionally too. I can only assume from this that there aren’t many traditional signwriters around in this area!

Does anyone know of any people who provide these services in this area
(kidderminster, cleobury mortimer, ludlow, bewdley) as im starting to feel very lonely?!?! (and busy, which, im not knocking!!!)

    No, you are not.
Many traditional painters, since they do not usually use computers, do not have the Internet.
I am probably way off base on these locales, but I do know and know of a few sign writers in your neck of the woods:
Ashley Bishop from someplace over there 😳
Tim Bird & Arthur Vanson from Buckinghamshire
    Terry Colley
    Paul Priestley
    and in Scotland
    Stewart McClaren
    Scott Telfer
    Catherine Foster
    Wales
    Paul Hooper
    David Kynaston
    Ireland
    Len Delacour (spelling?)
    Peter McCullen
    Brian O’Prey
But that’s all I can think of off the top of my head.
Keep at it….in a land of traditional signs, there are not many traditional painters left (it seems)

Hi Aaran, we’re not too far from you in Evesham, just a bit south and yes there are a few of us signwriters left – the nearest one I know to you is Dave at signcraft in stourport. There are several in worcester, three in and around evesham 1 in pershore but as time goes by your sure to hear of more. All the best anyway

There are at least 3 trad brush blokes in my town, the same amount of “modern” signmakers. One of them is a mate of mine, and although he has turned to the dark side of vinyl cutters he still does a fair bit of brush work – canopies etc. He still has customers who insist on painted stuff on their vans. I intend getting some training from him before he retires so I can do a bit more brushed work. (I’ve done a bit but wouldn’t consider myself particularly skilled.)

Definitely not a dying breed, not round here.

I think it was becoming a thing of the passed, with the advent of vinyl cutters printers and the like, but I am starting to see the brush people coming back, I think (hope) younger people are learning the art I can’t do it and admire people who can so keep on going 😛 you brush peeps and keep training younger people so the art can not become lost.
