Thanks Fred, these are fantastic…hopefully the customer will go for one of these instead of vectorising their one 🙂

In the past I have done files for various people for service a (£13.50), which should have been charged more. Recently I have had payments bouncing, and missing out on payments due to this.

If you look at the Vectorwise page it gives 3 options

service A : basic vectorisation next day before noon
service B : intricate vectorisation next day before noon
    and
    Let us quote.

Most of the time i think most folk chance there arm and send there artwork for £13.50. I will always try to help someone out whoever they are, but when you have a dozen or so vectors waiting to be done after you get home from work thats your night gone.

Also I get mails with “please return in ai, eps or the like) so i have to guess how much detail each person requires cos they are usually offline when im working.

I have/ and will mail customers who send artwork to ask if they wish me to proceed with the service if the cost is going to be higher.

Unfortunately by the time I got to Steves file it was 10:45pm when he got an email from me asking if he would like to proceed with the cost of £22.00 for the conservatory file.

This would have given me until 12noon today to get file to customer.

In the next week or so the structure of how I will be running the service will change, i am working closely with Robert on the site to get everything sorted.

So I have missed my first file in the year or so Vectorwise has been running, sorry Steve.

To show no hard feelings I will offer Steve his next vector for free (within reason) :lol1:

Sure, no hard feelings Robert, just tight deadlines to meet.

FYI – I sent the file off before 6pm yesterday evening, but unfortunately Andrew didn’t reply until 10:45pm saying it was going to cost more money, by which time I was in bed!

I read Andrew’s reply this morning, about an hour before the van was due to be dropped off, and as Andrew does all the vectorising in the evening when he gets home from work, it just wasn’t an option to wait until the evening for this.

I personally thought the Vectorwise service was a ‘get what you pay for service’. ie: pay £13.50 and get the basic vector, pay £22.00 and get the complex, more detailed version.

As we are, I’ve now cut the vectors Fred posted this morning, masked them on and will hopefully talk the customer round to going with one of them when they come to pick up the van this evening.

Vectorwise is a great service. Fast and perfect. Great when you got to much work and to little time 😀
