  • Question about average pricing

Posted by Nick Grandf on 19 July 2005 at 23:55

    Hi there,

What are average prices for printouts per 1 sqm (in UK) made by following machines: Roland SJ (eg. 740EX), Mimaki JV3 and Arizona 90/180 (generally speaking , how “true” solvent relates to “mild” and eco-solvent HQ pricing). How does that compare to inkjet prices?

    Bests,

All depends on what price you pay for your media doesn’t it?

As a rule the maximum lay down of ink off most printers in 1sqm is 14ml.

Us this as a guide to calculating your ink costs if you keep to the 14ml you will build in a little bit for waste and mistakes.

Other option is weigh your inks and track your sq metre of print through the rip then weigh again and work out your average.

    Whats the answer 10-11ml psqm!

I disagree that media costs are main factor. There’s lease, rent, worker’s wage, you need to earn something…Therefore the question is quite simple, what are actual AVERAGE prices in UK, not “how do you calculate the price”.

    Bests,
    Nick
