I you’re not going to make them yourself, I suppose you could get them here http://www.safetysignsonline.co.uk/ also gives you a price to work to if needed

    Hi SD,

We purchased a disk from Impact –

    http://www.impactgs.co.uk/impact_safety.htm

Seems to have most signs needed. We sell bucket loads of this type of sign and therefore screenprint them. (mod-edit) admin@uksingboards.com

    Cheers

Maybe you can use one of these fonts and modify them if neccessary.

    http://www.dafont.com/en/font.php?file= … &nb_ppp=50
    http://www.dafont.com/en/font.php?file=hazard&nb_ppp=50

If I remember correctly CorelDraw’s included clipart had a bunch of signs as well. Early versions did anyway.

    Hope that helps.

The Health & Safety (Safety Signs & Signals) Regulations 1996 is what helath and safety advisors need to know regarding the specification of signs. All UK sourced signs should meet this requirement. The bottom line is that every sign should have a pictogram so that non english speakers will have an idea what the sign is telling them.

Specification for safety signs can be found in BS 5499:1 2002. It should be possible to look at a copy in the reference section of a library.

The BS mentions Helvetica Medium font. There don’t appear to be any size specifications, but the text should be clear and legible. There is too much information to retype here in the few minutes I have spare.
