    hi all
I’m faced with a new one
i need to apply the above to 4 sets of windows easy you may say
well thing is i had to buy 1220 wide vinyl as 2 of the windows are about that width the other 2 are smaller.
I was going to cut vinyl to size on plotter but being only 610 wide i cant so I’m asking how would you do it
i was thinking cut it about right size by hand and trim on the glass ,i will be using application fluid (sorry rob) and I’m worried that when i come to edges there going to be wet and wont stick to glass until trimmed to the correct size and i cant trim to correct size until edges are stuck to glass am i making sense
    any help

If you apply it wet it can be a pain to trim,
cut it to the size on site -2or 3 mm before aplication, you can still do his on the window, just mark it and cut with a straight edge before removing the backing

hiya rich, we did some recently at a new Wilkinson store

we were asked to apply frosting to external facing windows, we measured the windows and then cut the vinyl (by hand) approx 2in too big, applied to window (wet, sorry rob) squeegied water out then trimmed around perimetre of window, leaving approx 5mm clearance from edge.

the windows we did were about 15ft x 3ft and we did 9 of them

pretty easy job really, massive amount of static when we removed the backing paper.

    hope this helps

    cheers

If you know the sizes you need, why not just cut to exact size on the bench? Shouldn’t be a problem as long as the windows are nice and square. As has been mentioned before, I think a full flood coat of etch/frosted looks smartlier (real word!) with a small clear border around.
