    Hi all! 😀

Does anyone own a CJ500 Print and Cut? I’m finding the machine a nightmare.

My main problem is when it comes to cut. It doesnt cut right at all it never lines up right. No reg.
Surley if a machine offers print and cut it should match up otherwise whats the point??

Thanks in advance for any advice anyone can offer 😀 😀

    Hi,

I have a CJ500 converted to use EcoSol inks with a heater and have problems with cuts not lining up with prints as well. The Roland dealer told me it was because the heater caused the vinyl to expand when printing, then when the machine cuts it contracts again because it is not over the heater for as long. However I think that could be a load of hogwash, I just don’t think the machine is capable of accurate print & cut. A few things I have found to get by the problem is to keep the print/cut short e.g. 300 – 400mm at 1200 wide or use narrower vinyl 630mm wide. This works OK for small contour cut stickers but doesn’t help for larger jobs. Sorry I couldn’t be more helpful.

    Regards, Paul.

    HI
IF THE CUT OFF SET IS CONSISTENT AROUND THE print then the adjustment between the print head and knife is adrift and can be realigned as described in the manual.

or if you print a 1 inch square & cut notice the amount of off set and in the menu adjust to suit – it is not difficult once you have got the idea and found the settings

Thanks for the advice! Managed to get it cutting a bit better. Things are made much difficult due to the fact I havent a manual for the printer. Keep asking for one………..but thats Victory for you. Does anyone have one as a PDF?

    Thanks for the help again,

    I have a PDF for the SC500, it’s only 1.5 meg if you’re interested.
I think the machines are identical besides for the heater and ink set.

    Regards, Paul.

Thnks for the manual mate! its a real help. the one that Victory keep sending me doesnt even mention a blade (but then they have pulled all the roland badges off and replaced them with their own). Cant wait to get up and running knowing something about the machine.

    Thanks again

when i bought my machine off victory they said that i should buy a seperate machine for cutting around my prints as it wasnt that accurate……. so we endid up bying a print only machine and cut everything by hand. most of our stuff isnt that small anyway so it hasn’t been a nightmare as yet.

    have a good day everybody

May I have it too please?

I recently had my SC-500 (Mk 1) converted to Ecosol and the heater kit installed. I’d read on a Roland forum that the SC-500 had a ‘magic eye’ for automatic realignment with print/cut. He downloaded new firmware and altered the machine setting, et voila. Quite why Roland de-activate the magic eye is beyond me, perhaps someone could shed some light on this.

had a similar problem to, (normally when you walk away or making a brew! ) the vinyl was catching the ali panel that covers the heater as it came through ,the longer it was on the worse it got . i have sorted this by gaffer taping across where the panel edge is. works fine now.
