    Hi guys,

Who manufactures the print head of the PC600??? is it Roland??? I just thought that maybe it isn’t.
Is there any kind of aftermarket Print Head that will work on it???
What I am trying here is to find out if there’s any other print head that may work on the PC600 just as like and cost a lot less!!!
What’s the cost for the print head replacement over the UK???
Here in the US it cost $495.00 which is a lot of money when you consider that the print head most of the time won’t last more than 6 months to one year…
I am interested in finding out where to get this Print Head at lower price, if all possible.
How aften have you have yours replaced and how often you use it???
    Thanks for the input folks.
    Thanks,

    Alex

The cartridges I think are the same (size/design not ribbon content) as my old Citizen Printiva colour printer so it is posible they are made by Citizen or whatever the manufacturing name for Citizen is as for cost you can be sure that whatever you pay in US it will be twice as much as here in the UK as we get stitched up price wise for everything.

Roland make them, they bought the technology from Citizen / Alps who developed the Microdry process.

The heads are different though ! so you couldnt use the one from a Citizen or Alps printer on the Roland.

Dont know of any aftermarket suppliers – the machines arent that common so I wouldnt have thought theres really a market for them.

    Hi Guys,

That’s good to know that Citizen/Alps used to make them…I’ll do some further study on this…I have to take mine for head replacement next week, I got to get rid of that white line and I guess that’s the only way…and I’ll have to shed $500.00 with it…which is a shame. I’ll try to get a glimpse of the original box for that head and get some information on where it comes from. Maybe I’ll get lucky.
    I’ll keep you posted.
    Thanks again,
