I use full Acrobat and print to that which produces a pdf but there are many cheaper alternatives, I have used Jaws pdf Creator which came free on the front of a mag and that does the job just as well and retail is only £55 ish try http://www.jawspdf.com

We use the render to bitmap command, then export as a jpeg to forward to customers. If its a large image, we tend to resize first then render to bitmap.

    Hope this helps.

    Just a FYI.

In Signlab 7.1 you have full PDF support, so you can both import PDF and publish as PDF.
You can also e-mail directly out of Signlab and select between PDF or Jpeg format.

Make a copy of your image, re-size it to 100mm wide, render to bitmap full colour 300dpi – it will be around 5 megs.
Export Image as jpeg – it will be around 200k.

If you have a layout with a lot of text and you want them to be able to print out at full resolution or to zoom in to see your detailed work, then you need to send them a PDF.
You can do this with CorelDraw:
Make a copy of your layout, re-size it to fit an a4 sheet, convert to curves,
export as .ai, import into Corel, export as .pdf.

Don’t forget to include your logo & details as part of the image too!

If you use the same PC for mail and Signlab, you should be able to go to Web>send image by e-mail and this will allow you to send images as JPG or PNG direct from signlab e6 without having to export and attach the file. For PDF you need Signlab 7.1 or an additional program to do it for you.
