Corp Logo : Clinique
Posted by John Childs on 8 April 2005 at 14:01Anybody got the CLINIQUE logo and wouldn’t mind sharing please.
I’ve downloaded the one from brandsoftheworld but it looks horrible and like something autotraced with Corel. Which is unusual. 🙁

Thanks for the reply Cheryl. Unfortunately it’s the same as the one I already have.
We have made logos with it in the past but they have all been small stuff for sandblasting where it wasn’t so important but this time the logo has to be fairly large and I want to be sure that it is right. I am unhappy because to me it looks rough and not the sort of thing a multi-national company would use. I may be wrong though – stranger things have happened.
Would you do me a favour and have a close look at it and give me your opinion on whether you think it is correct. Failing that I can see a trip into town this morning to check on some of their packaging. 🙁 I hate going onto town.

Hi John
yes, it does look a bit strange. When you look at it close up, it looks staged and you’d imagine there were hundreds of nodes !
I pulled it out to 3m and it looked the same. However there doesn’t seem to have loads of nodes so I would imagine it would cut ok.
Might be worth trying to cut a small one to see what it comes out like.
Alternatively, I would print it out, scan & then retrace it with zero tolerance.
Might take a few minutes but save a trip into Town.
All the best,
Cheryl

Hiya Cheryl.
I couldn’t face the trip into town. I have decided to cut a sample and let my customer see it on Monday. If they say it is ok then I will do the job. If not I will leave it to them to get better artwork.
Thanks for looking.

you’re welcome John,
it will probably be just fine. Don’t worry. I’m sure people don’t see what we see ! 😮
I drive friends mad, because I’ll be looking at van graphics or a sign in passing and remark on how its not straight or it’s out of balance etc.
I was looking at a large & very expensive yacht last week that needed new graphics. The original ones had obviously been put on in dry dock because on the water they weren’t level ! 🙄 Theres nothing more acurate than a water line.
All the best
Cheryl
