By rights, you should have added in the measly $40 that Sarah costs to your job.

It was money well spent in my case Jill. LHF make some absolutely super duper fonts. I make a point of not sharing them as I would with the “1000 fonts for ten quid” rubbish.
I wonder what the legality is of supplying a few words to someone as in the case here?

I don’t think that Charles Borges de Oliveira, the designer,
or Chuck Davis, the owner of Letterhead Fonts, would be too pleased.
It’s almost like a customer who takes YOUR artwork to another sign shop.
Do you like it when that happens?

Hi Jill,
after looking at various layouts done by people on this site I decided I would like to use a font that I had previously seen [turned out to be sarah script]
I was forwarded one word and used it in a job
I have since been on to the Letterhead font site I have seen other fonts I plan to buy, I would imagine the site gets a lot of traffic and free publicity from UKSB
I guess what I’m saying is it works both ways in my opinion, and the people who never buy individual tyefaces probably never will.
Cheers

didnt mean to offend you Jill but now i have seen the sentence and the customer has too I have to purchase the font to finish the rest of the job. I too agree that fonts should be purchased because its not fair to take or ask for something that someone else has paid full wack for. And as was said its a great font and will make its money back a million times over.
Thanks again 😀
Chris

It is not illegal to pass a word or sentence in any typeface as long as its outlines as it is classed as artwork, but it is illegal to supply the actual font file.
