  • Plastic hinges Supplier needed?

Posted by Chris Sharps on 16 March 2005 at 18:34

    Hi

I am looking at producing a simple “A” Board type structure from 2 panels of 10mm foamex (probably 1000mm x 700mm portrait) and I want to hinge it at the top.

Spandex used to supply such a thing but they discontinued them a while ago.

If anyone has any ideas on who might supply this type of hinge it would be appreciated

    Thanks

    Chris

Does it have to be plastic? Any outdoor weather resistant hinge will work. I sometimes use piano hinge from DIY shops.

    Hi

    I know its not plastic!!

If you are looking for a cheap hinge, have a look at screw fix, they sell hinges at a good price, look at this one:

    http://www.screwfix.com/app/sfd/cat/pro … 8&ts=09533

Nickel plated 32mm wide. 1828mm long.

    For 10 of them £27.99

I asked the same question in a thread a few weeks back.
I did not get anywhere, I would look down the boating route for plastig hinges or caravans.

In the end I used the corulux method as shown on the boards.

    Tim.
