Those are awesome Andrew! What material are the “flags” made out of?

top notch work yet again mate… very smart! 😛
we have done boats in the past, nothing as big as those though.
must be about 11 years ago now, but we supplied the words Virgin & some other stuff for the atlantic challenger. though we did not fit it 😕
thats my claim to fame with boats… -
Wow, that looks really cool Andrew 😀 Brass coated titanium sounds like it was pretty damn special and expensive !
What did you use to fix the letters, i didnt quite get your description 😕 I guess they were pretty heavy and having to stand the worst of the sea elements can throw at it must be about the most challenging use possible for an adhesive tape ?
What type of vinyl did you use for the yacht – is it digitally printed ? I’d be really worried about doing a job like either of these because of the durability issues and fitting nightmares 😮 Each to their own I guess though and you obviously made a great job of them both !Nigel

Hi Nigel,
the large boat was built in Holland I think, anyway we had to go there to do it, the letters are secured with the hook and loop 3M VHB tape the 3M rep met on site.
we did have a problem with the built up straps below the letters [because of the curviture] and when the boat visited Largs, Scotland [hometown] our fitter had to absail down the boat to fix it.
Cast vinyls seem to work fine on the yachts we do, I don’t like doing yachts! I let it go after the computer stage and Fiona fits them, she also fits the stripes, dacron to the sails and stuff.
most of the time it’s 5 faxes, 5 e-mails, matching colours, and then they can’t believe you charge them £100
Cheers

ive never used the 3m hook and loop but had some samples a while back and have to say i was very impressed by the grip. i always thought it was a bit elaborate for its purpose and never thought ide ever have the need for something like that, but your work here is a fine example of how/where it should be used andrew, top notch like i said mate & thanks for taking the time to post your work. 😉
