Anti-Vandal
Posted by Bill Dewison on 31 January 2005 at 15:19I’ve been asked to supply some signs warning of anti-vandal paint. I believe these are mandatory warning signs, does anyone know if there is an official sign for this or whether it just has to be clear, bold text or???
Cheers, Dewi

I think they are yellow with black text, however, I do not think there is a specific safety standard to them.
Id also like to know as we have one customer who has always had his own format, and he’s recently been asking if they have to conform to anything.

An interesting one this (if you’re a sad anorak like me!) – there is no specific guidance as to the wording etc but the sign should comply with BS5378:1980 Safety Colours and Safety Signs Guidance which sets out the colours etc that should be used and states that text should be kept to a minimum.
I have a JPEG that shows the sign suggested by this BS standard but can’t for the life of me fathom out how to add it to this post. If you want it Dewi PM or email me and I’ll send it to you.

I would think they would be black & yellow as they are warning signs, with a triangle with an exclamation mark in it, and a box with “coated with anti vandal paint”

I’ve just posted the Anti vandal sign image in the correct forum!
