Not sure if this is the right board but robert will swap it if it isn’t.

Hi all, I was “surfing” the net this morning and came across some people looking for miniaturised graphics for R/C models and the like.
It struck me that this might be a nice market for a begineer like me to start off with.
Is anyone already doing miniaturised stuff please and if so is there a demo available?

    Regards
    Andy

When you see ‘miniture’ in computer cut, think ‘hard’ 😮

Modelracer on these boards does all that sort of stuff, Probably be good to pm him.

Have done a few RC’s in my time. It was never cost effective in many ways. The smaller graphics are harder to weed, sometime impossible.

From experience no one really appreciated the time it took, and the money you had to charge.

I only did them at the time because I was also do the ‘real’ race cars too, it was usually the mecahnics and drivers that wanted replicas of their race car.

Don’t mean to be too negative mate, but it is not as easy as it might seem.

    Cheers

On the subject of models, I have been asked if I can do some printed lettering for a model collector, the lettering is only 2mm high (number plate and destination on buses). Thing is some of them are white, is it just the Gerber that can print these?

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Cheers

This is a good candidate for the ColourCAMM PC60/600. Prints white at 600dpi where as the Edge prints at 300dpi!

one of my first jobs was to sign 2 model cars for racing , 6mm was ok to do , but the weeding was a nightmare, took ages, never used much vinyl though.

good call mike, i agree, this is were the pc60 wins hands down 😉 :lol1:

can you imagine havent to keep changing the ribbons on an edge printing 6mm text or smaller? 😮

pc60 will do it from start to finish then contour cut. rez is higher than the edge too 😉
