    Hola me dearios,

Has anybody come across a silly behavioural pattern by a font……
I type the letter “a” in arial lower case and it’s fine. Change it to upper case (or just type an upper case “a” and it changes to “uyghuyg” in lower case. When it’s the first letter of a word, the “uyghuyg” shows underneath the following letters!

This only happens in Arial, and only to the letter “a”.

I’ve re-loaded the font a few times, but that don’t not work neither!

    Any bright ideas anyone?

Feliz navidad, by the way. have a goody

Does it do this with every program or one specific one? Have you tried to get another copy of the font? Your file might be corrupt.
    Merry Christmas to you too.!!:)

    Hi Rod,

    Thanks for your reply.

It only does it with Flexi Sign – all other progs seem to be o.k.

It’s not the font itself, ’cause I’ve re-installed it three times from different sources.

So – bafflement still sweeps over me.

    Cheers

    hi
some programmes have a susituion – type one thing get something else corel has anyway.

with the prog in text mode try : press and hold down the alt key then type 65 on the numeric pad release the alt key you should get the A.
num 65 is the font position of A.
if it now shows up ok then its the keyboard or programme if you get the funny A then its the font

    clear as mud

    Hi Chris,

Tried all that – still the same. Now……I’ve got Flexi installed on my computer at home and it doesn’t happen on that one, so I’ve come to the conclusion it must be something adrift in the installation of the software on my computer here…..I’ll install it again and see what happens.

Actually, I don’t really like Arial very much anyway!!!

May I take this opportunity to wish all you pats a very merry Christmas and a Happy new year from us ex-pats in Spain. (Well , the nicer ones here anyway).

Have a successful and prosperous 2005 and keep watching this channel…. I have decided that I am going to retire in January, so if you want to live and work in the sun, but can’t afford a lot of dosh to buy my business, there may well be an opportunity for you – I’ll post details on the appropriate board.

    Hasta Luego for now
