hello from mallorca spain (versacamm Newbie)
got a versacamm this year not used it much got it for printing posters and doing t-shirts but not much luck with the material I’ve been trying. i have been trying here to get solvent gloss photo paper from rolland here but they say its not sold in europe ! (not roland’s own anyway) t-shirt material not much luck either, just got some from duro tape, roll of printa standard, still testing it, after some tweaking i got it not smudge together and even look quite reasonable but its getting white specs in it. looks like a paint brush flicked on it with white. hope i can find some answers on this forum
i am new to the sign business but I’ve done some airbrushing work onto pvc and a few years ago i had a pc60 and a camm1 from roland
anyway i was only supposed to say hello !! well hello

:welcome: cold & wet here and see your in spain – say no more.
spotting is a problem on some materials and i am told that it comes from the finishing rollers at the factory should disapier a little further in to the roll also sounds like you are putting to much ink down in one go so lower the ink value and print at a higher resolution are you using the roland colour rip ? .gone to find another heater

thanx mrsticker i did lower the ink to 130 the image is better almost perfect but the spots r there, do u think i should unroll it a few metres and try? i cant give out work like it is it is very speckled

Doro sell a coated 200gsm poster paper that takes a lot of ink! I’ve had three rolls so far and I’m over the moon with it.

i been on to them and they r trying to find out to whats the problem doing some more tests further down the roll i’ll let you know what happens, nothing against duro tape very helpful on the phone, got some other samples too they seemed to work fine! maybe i just got a faulty roll
is there a way of putting a jpg in this message ?

versacamm problem? sounds like the profile… i gather you know that anyway? i have a solvent machine, modified soljet… so cant really help here. sorry… lots of regulars here have a versacamm though… you should find plenty help. 😉
