    Hi all

I am thinking of changing my internet security software. I am currently using Norton (subscription due) and the odd thing has got through though in general I have been happy with it. Are there any other programs out there that I should consider.

Been a happy user of Panda for the past two years! Nothing seems to get through! Also denies software access to the net unless required, good for as a firewall, spyware etc. When I upgraded I was using symantec, once I loaded Panda it found two viruses that went undetected before.

I’ve just updated my pc’s to Norton Inernet Security 2005 today from the 2004 version. Rather than pay for a new subscription I think it’s always worth getting the new product which comes complete with a year’s subscription.

Just my thoughts on the matter.

BTW never had any serious problems with Norton

Nortons is not as good as it used to be. After changing to Panda Nortons has been kicked into touch……….
Try their online scan you might be suprised at what it finds

I used norton before, and found that it wasnt quite as reliable as the other anti – virus and firewalls available, i figured that Kaspersky could detect more viruses though.

i am using norton security works pro.
i can honestly say i am very happy with it. ive been using it for some time now….
it covers everything i need in one package.
    security
    firewall
    intrusion detection
    anti virus
    privacy control
    ad blocking
    anti spam
    etc etc

ive never had a virus, nor do i get much spam, “IF ANY” i get tons of mail and it copes with it all itself. blocks spam coming in and automaticaly adds emails i reply to to a safe list and so on.
its also set to update every 2 days itself & run a system check, normaly when i go to bed.

down side is i think it slows down broadband a little as it checks everything before it loads. and i also think its a bit tight on the adverts it allows, but hey.. i can live with this for peice of mind.

Changed from Norton some time back. Went with Computer Associates E Trust until my sub expired last year. The renewal was a bit dear so I changed to AVG7. Firtsly I used the free version to check it out, then when I changed to the pay version, it is a totally new program.

Have had not cause for complaint.

Norton had a few ‘issues’ when I was originally using it, which is why I changed in the first place.

Have no idea what later versions are like tho.

This probably is no help to you, but thought I’d post anyway.

I use to use AVG then read about Panda antivirus so gave it a go. Been using Panda Titanium (very cheap) for a year now, very good, updates daily, stops viruses every day from my emails.

    Cheers
