great stuff mate.. pics/work look great.. really glad you you gave it a go..
something worse than wet application is… wet application in the cold 😮
you would still be there now trying to get the app tape off the vinyl on those shutters. 😕

not sure if you have but seeing your going back tomorrow it wont matter.. but..
did you heat along the joins in the shutter? if not.. use a heat gun and give it a nice blast of hot air rubbing in with a finger or better still felt squeegee… it give it a better finish and grips better to the vinyl finish on the shutter.
another tip.. if you “have time” using a small straight edge slighly trim the vinyl back from the joins rather than just slitting. helps increase the life of the vinyl when its getting wound back and forward..

thanks for taking the time to post your work mate.. great stuff…

bye the way.. did you know you have 2 orbs in those pictures? 😮

Nice work Rich and congrats on your first dry application!!! 😀

We are about to sign our roller shutter door, so now we know to trim back rather than just slit.

    Carrie 😀

OOoooh I spotted the orbs aswell.

yep.. trimming back helps heaps carrie. the slats actualy move a little back and forward as well as side to side. so if you just slit it.. the two slats rubbing off each other cause the vinyl to loosen off along the joins.. it then dog ears and starts tp flap back a little.. it then gets wet and dirty.. starts to get brittle and before you know it the world has ended… 😮 not really.. just getting carried away there.. ahem.. 😕 you know what i mean anyway 😉

    thanks all
rob did it just like you said i cut the vinyl where it butted together so vinyl didn’t meet and as for heat i went over it 2 times allowing it to cool

i had some push pull signs and door times to do which contained a blue backing i would have never done this dry before but would never ever do wet on glass again !!!!

jill means the circles of light caught in your pictures mate… scroll back and you will see in two pictures you have 1, but in different places as they are known to move.

maybe this link will help. 😉

What a load of Orb claptrap!

Make your own by shaking a duster anywhere dimly lit and use the flash on your camera – OMG lotsa spirits 😮 .

Sorry to be so dismissive but my daughters going through the spookydookie phase again and waking us in the middle of the night, so my tolerance is low.

By the way Rich, the job looks great – Spirits or no 😉
