  • Going round Badges

I’m just doing an astra van and the design I have covers a large part of the back doors and goes over the ‘vauxhall’ and the ‘astra’ badge. Has anyone got any tips on how to cover these badges? I thought either take the badges off and refit them over the vinyl or just cutting round them in either an outline of the badge or a rectangle shape round the badges?
    Any ideas?

If I can’t convince the customer to lose the badges, I sometimes remove them and stick them back on afterwards. Just be careful, often the badges will break when removed. I think it looks better than trying to cut around, especially on the text. Maker’s badges you can usually cut around pretty easily because they are usually just circles or ovals.

I always lose the badges, just ask the customer what they want to advertise on their van, their name of the van manufacturers? Ah except Nissan those buggers have a habit of holes and pins as i found 😳

The other day on one of those “overhauled” shows on TV,
I saw someone using dental floss to remove the emblems!
They just slid it in behind the thing and flossed away.

If it is a stick-on car dealer decal, I always remove it.
I am more leery of taking off an emblem, though,
because some folks are REALLY picky about that.

I think that I would just trim the vynull around the emblem
in a simple shape. I don’t do wraps tho.
I usually just try not to get the lettering too close to them.
Or else I’ll balance out the emblem with one advertising
    my own company! 😉
