    Help!!!

I’ve been given a CMYK mix (C=95 M=50 Y=5 B=0) and I need to get a vinyl as close to that as I can.

It doesn’t need to be spot-on, and all I really need is a Pantone number so that I can pick a vinyl.

Anybody know of a painless way of doing this?

    its panton 2935 u
The way to do this is to draw a filled square in Corel , edit the fill to you cmyk values (go to properties of the item to edit fill) then in that same edit dialog box , pick palettes and choose the pantone (or any other type) one that you want , and hey presto , the equivalent pantone reference is highlighted

    Hi John,
this sort of works. Use Photoshop colour picker. Change the CMYK values to the ones supplied, then click on the custom button and it will throw up a Pantone Reference.
The values you have indicate a blue, P.2945.

    John.

    Brilliant lads. Many thanks.

Now, if you reallywant to be heroes – do you know how I can do that trick in Illustrator?

4col to spot is a nightmare.
Personally having looked at my Solid to process swatch I would say 2935 is too dark a blue.

Are you trying to match to a printed sample ie letterheads?

If so I would get a sample if the client is a picky one.

    Tim.
