  • How do I quote this??

    Hi all,

Can anybody advise us if this is the correct way to quote the following job.
I think I entered it in the wrong forum before, might have better luck here.

We have been given a job that we consider to be our biggest yet,.

The area to be worked on is already erected and so we are just suppling and fitting the design.

The whole are is 18 meters long by half a meter tall with an arch which is 2.5 meters wide by 1.5 meters high in the middle.

On these panels there will be 10 two colour logos which are all of different design and colour. In addition to these there will also be a one colour logo which is 2 meters wide by half a meter tall.

On the arch there will be company name which consists of 15 letters that will follow the arch all around, each one12 inches high.

Now to the tricky bit, we require to buy for the job 9 colours all in 5+ year vinyl. All the colours are standard ie red, yellow, black, blue etc, and so per meter are the same price.

All in we will need to purchase 20 meters of vinyl.
Here’s where you guys come in…. Artwork and design has taken us two hours which we charge £20 per hour.
Fitting will require the both of us which we estimate will take half a day.

We are thinking of charging the vinyl at £22 per meter cut and applied.

Overall we have reached the sum of £480 for the full job done and dusted.

As many opinions on this as possible would be much appreciated as we are very new to pricing accurately for large jobs.

    Cheers in advance

    Aaron and Chris (?) 😀

Have you thought about getting a quote in for digital print on the two col logos. The only reason that l say this is because it would be far easier to fit, especially if you are high up or it’s a blustery day. It’s quicker also, you don’t have to line the second colour up with the first. One piece and it’s all done.
As far as pricing goes, it’s hard to say with the details you gave. Work out the material cost, the time to weed, the time to apply, the design etc…. Whatever the going rate is round your way and put the price in.
    Good Luck.

Cheers, we hadn’t considered that option, we’ll look into it though

As for your advice , I reckon all things considered we are not that far off the mark.

    Thanks again.
