• Banner Pricing

Sorry its another pricing topic have read them all and now just confused myself 😕 even more

Customer aproached us this morning and asked for a quote on a banner for a School of Motoring ( first one through the door)

10ft x 2ft Black Banner with a L Plate logo each end and three lines of single colour text which would cover about 60″

As I am very new to the world of vinyl I dont want to over price or under price. Luckily we were up to our necks with other work ( so I could not make a fool of myself with a price) they are calling back on the weekend

Got a thousand and one other questions after this 😆 😆

    Thanks Again

    for a white 10 x 2ft banner, I`d price it @ £65 + VAT.

add the word “from” before giving any price, from experiance, the customer always adds other things to the quote and expects the same price quoted.

add another £10 for coloured banners.

add, more £`s for anthing other that text.

i think my banner prices are a bit low, so I`ll be looking to increase by another 15% soon.

If you have a good source for banners they will cost you £0.70ea per square foot (10 X 2 costs £14 but the chances are you only buy one banner at a time then you need to pay £7 carrage) you will have used aprox 4 linear metres of banner vinyl (assuming 610mm wide) call this £12 including the app tape. so before you start to make money it has cost you £33, I hope becky never comes to Scotland as he will clean up at £65.

I would suggest you have to cover your fixed costs by at least 30% to cover cock ups etcthen mark uptotal 30% to cover fixed overheads and then add what you want to make as a profit, for a 10 by 2 banner we would add £50 giving a price of approx £110 ( obviously if people like becky are about then you could come and go with your customer, but few people actually take the same banner design to more than one place to get a price)

Lets make some money out there

Banners are one of those things that can be difficult to price. Sometimes I find that customers expect them to be dirt cheap, just because they tend to be for temporary use. However, I’ve just done a couple: 13’4″ x 5′ white with 3 lines of 12″ text; £170.00 each. Which was nice. 🙂

I treat them the same as any other pricing exercise; add up the materials costs, added to the hourly rate to make them.

12 x 2 is £80 for plain text 2 colours to £100 depending how complex it gets, logos or art work are extra. I nearly always use bannana banner for plain white cos its good value for money. I bought a full roll and just cut the length I want (cant remember how long it was or how much it cost but know it worked out very cheap) Hey I am a yorkshireman you know 😆

    Signco..

    We pay £10 for a 10 x 2ft white light weight banner.

We do not pay for postage, as the manufacturer is local.

To letter an average banner with text should only take you 30 mins. £10 for banner, 3 metres max, for material, & app tape. £12 max.

My banner only costs me £22. Leaving me with a profit of £43 for half an hours work.

We quote , “from” £65 + VAT. it is the starting point. The more text the customer wants, the price goes up. The more colours they want, the price goes up, logos are extra too.

Very rare do we sell at £65.

You can`t give a fixed price for a banner or any other signage for that matter, till you see whats the lay out is like. But the customer wants a price when they ring up. So thats our starting point.

Thanks for all the help folks

This is what was confusing me – “Banner” & “Tempory” and just presuming the customer would want it for next to nothing because of that.
As I can see from the replies, I should be thinking – even though it may be tempory there is still the same amount of work etc. involved as other signs (sort of)

I will be able to give the customer a quote with confidence now 😎

Thanks again (something new learned again today 😀 )
