Apologies for the naff thread title, but I wanted to give proper credit to Mulberry (Mike) who sorted out the making of this lightbox for me. All I did was stick some vinyl on and bolt it to the wall. Thanks Mike mate.

If you think the fixing plate is a bit over the top, it is overkill but will be covered by another lightbox next week, the same as the one that is partly visible to the left.

that looks cracking mate.. very nifty.. mikes done a grand job fabricating that mate.. your customers gotta have been chuffed with it? 😀

i know what you mean about the bracket. thing is.. i always bang in more screws than needed with signs like this.. even fascias. you can never be too secure these days. everyone wanst to take you to the cleaners for the sake of a banana skin 😆 😆
looking at it you wouldnt get much verticle hold/spread so next bests gotta be width.. like you say, new light box will cover so nobody will know in a week or two.

both signs illuminated look great. very eyecatching & tidy. well done 😉

Vundervall!!!, very nice andy, but for the sake of us less experianced, how did you get the lettering to be white?, at first glimps I thought it to be blue with red over-lay, but that wouldnt work with the white, let us in on the secret 😮

Nice one Andy 😀 Really smart! Blimey, you’ll have done the entire frontage to that place before long! Glass etch, light boxes… but any sign of the free pizza with side order of kebab yet? 😉 😉

    Cheers, Dewi

Pretty Classy for a Pizza Joint!
Most of ours are hideous green-n-red
with an overused clip art of a chubby Italian dude.
    Nice Job!

Looks great! Will look very eye catching when the other one is up aswell.

We are getting loads of requests in at the moment for fascia light boxes …. but the council seems to be a bit of a pain around here as we have a lot of conservation areas especially in the town area & it seems to be a no-no 🙄 However we’ve got a few quotes for internal menu ones coming up soon ……. looking forward to that! 😀 Im sure I will be posting for advice & info very soon …….. (spin)

Lawrence, painfully simple answer – white panel.

Does the blue vinyl just butt up against the red?

No mate, I put a small overlap on the red and blue. Firstly to allow for any slight misregistration when applying (perish the thought !) and also to allow for any slight shrinkage of the vinyl. Being a light box that is getting hot and cold all the time there is a chance that the vinyl may shrink slightly. It does leave a small dark outline where the overlap is but if it’s neatly done it usually looks OK. You’ve got to have a bleed on something like this on a lightbox. Simply trying to butt the colours together would almost always leave a white gap between the colours, especially on larger signs.

    Hi Andy,
You have done a cracking job and the pictures look great!
Thanks for the comments regarding the fabrication work but there was really no need mate, glad to be of assistance.

Yes John, it has. The shop next door has been knocked through and will be a sit down pizza parlour next week.
