excellent stuff jill.. 😛
how was the flame done.. looks brill! -
Personally love that car! 😀 Really smart work Jill, but all this talk of webcams is making me dizzy 🙄
Cheers, Dewi

The flames are gold leaf which is burnished using a stencil to give it a bevelled 3-D look.
I believe that they are the work of Bruce Deveau.
I think that Brian “the Brush” Briskie did the car.
Made ya look..hahahaha
love
jill -
ive never seen goldleaf work like that.. amazing stuff 😉
i saw the guys at sign uk create circle effects on the leaf.. if im right (probably wrong though 😳 ) its called engineered somthing or other …ok mt broughton put me right.. i cant rememeber what you said. 😮

Silly boy…it’s “engine turned” hahaha
and I hate doing it! I never wait long enuff and I ruin my gold every time.
I have a panel done by Bruce Deveau that has a big letter “J”
that is burnished to look like a parquet floor.
I was lucky enuff to take Joe Chip’s gilding class at the meet, as soon as I can, I want to try again. Maybe I will be able to engine-turn one day.
(You wrap a cotton ball in a piece of velvet and use it to make circular scratches on the gold, some people attach the velvet pad to a drill, but in your case I think you’d be better off doing it by hand) 😉
love…Jill -
ahhh thats it 😳 😉
well i was extremely hungover and at the end of the second day of touring the show & a very late night.. so im using this as my excuse 😉 😆 😆 😆 -
Jill nice looking work that is.
If you look at the finished picture of the sign we did at the show Rob you’ll see that the gold leaf section was bevelled in the same way.
