Not really appropriate for this forum but needed to be able to upload images for you ref other postings…. These prices are only list costs and are obviously subject to negotiable discount 😉

I’ve been looking for wet chalk markers for a while, nice one 😀 But I’m puzzled, what is the benefit of buying the blackboard laminate? It must be a tad cheaper to paint some board, or foam??

Yeah, it’s loads cheaper but I think you’ll find its quite tricky to make a good job of removing the wet chalk markers from black board painted surfaces, and you often have to repaint it to make it look respectable again. With the laminate material it is impervious to the chalk and most solvents too so you can wipe it clean and it looks as good as new.
It’s very good stuff but obviously it’s not appropriate if you’re customer wants to spend 60 quid on a chalk “A” board !
I have used it quite a bit for pub/bar menus and also in shops too and never had a problem with cleaning any type of chalk/markers off.
Don’t know if you got the link the other day for chalk markers – http://www.rainbowchalk.com

    cheers,

Hadn’t thought about that 😕 Mind you, looking at those prices, nothing wrong with getting the .9mm and backing it with a bit of foam, or ext. mdf.. it’d still work out pretty cheap.

I did get the link Nigel, its superb! How the devil do you manage to find time to get supplier info like that? I searched the net for about 3 days looking for those things, and all I got was Office World! They had some nice Captain’s chairs in though 😉

I have done exactly what you suggest on occasions – I think roughly speaking I only pay about 60% of those costs aswell with a discount !
The 0.9mm is single sided but you can easily bond it with some “no more nails” or contact adhesive to 3/8″ply or similar.
I can’t remember how I came by the rainbow chalk link – but they are a really good source and the products are great too.
