Hi just hired on at a company called Tournament Services, Inc. here in the US. We support Golf Tournaments with signage and banners.

I am new to Flexi 7 Pro and to Illustrator CS, but have miles of experience in Photoshop. Primarily I used Photohshop, After Effects, and Final Cut Pro to do Broadcast quality graphics while I was in television production at a local tech college.

Anyway what brought me here was that I am having a problem opening Illustrator files from within Flexi 7. I tried exporting as a AI 10, AI 9 and EPS but neither opens…. claims to be an error. Exported BMP color 24 bit and then lost vector data. Ran the vector finder thing (can’t remember what it is called) and then it seemed to work but the paths were separated out.

Using the Lincoln Mercury logo as an example…. the outside of the ‘O’ in Lincoln grouped itself with the black shape layer and the slymbol for Mercury in the Red made separate paths.

anyway …. just need a quick way to get an AI file to Flexi without having to re-vectorize it. HOpe you can help.

I use Casmate pro (quite an old program but related to flexi) and Signlab 5. On occasion I have had problems importing .eps files into both programs but have achieved a fix by opening the .eps file in Corel Draw – then exporting (still as an .eps file) and importing the new version of the .eps file into Casmate or Signlab.

Corel Draw does seem to have a better ability to open a range of file types and I often use it simply to convert files into a usable format.

    I hope this helps 😀
