Im fed up with being conned with rubbish application paper.

Which is the best in your opinion?

All I want is a good medium tack quality paper.

Application tape in our place is a bit of a juggling act between the girls who make the graphics and the lads that fit them. What suits one activity is not always best for the other. After many battles and much blood spilled on the carpet they have declared a truce and compromised on Conform.

I find the best plan is to keep well out of it.

Like Robert, I use the Oracal. I’m not an expert on application tape obviously, but it seems to do the job brilliantly. Its s’posed to be a high tack tape and I was expecting it to stick like doo doo to a shovel (aww dear, I’m saying doo doo again 🙁 ) but it sticks when you need it to and peels off nicely when the jobs done, which I s’pose is what counts 😀

    Cheers, Dewi

    dry! a women after my heart.. 😉 😆 😆

like john says i think its down to what you prefer.. ive tried laods of brands and the oracal has been the most consitant.
    i will try explain.
in the past i have complained about this and that. the reps say ok we wil give you that at this price. send me the logs and i happy as punch. a month or so later they start sending the duff stuff.. after a month of problems i use another source, same scenario.. decent to begin with then crap. i dont know if they sell you good stuuf to get the foot in the door then revert to their cheaper brands. 😕
oracal as far as i know.. well europoint do a bog standard and it works well. it comes in branded tubes also.. no real problems.. 😀

I use oracal as well, I have tried a few different papers and I have found oracal to be as good as any I have tried.
Conform is a good tape but as I say oracal works just as well in my opinion and it is cheaper.

Oracal for me aswell. More so for the fact that Paper Co are in Manchester and not from a quality point of view. Good to see Paper Co getting some massive plugs, perhaps some payback on the cost of that advert mmmmmmm…….. 😀 😀

Hey Paper Co, try and process your orders properly. I thought you’d put all those bad days behind you. Let down again this week due to poor order processing by sales personnel 👿 👿

I used oracal for a while but the last few batches I’ve had have been really low tack and don’t pick up the letters when applying!
Europoint say they only do one type.
Now use some cheap stuff from cherwell sign supplies, seems much better.

Had the same problem as Johnny S with regards to Oracal. The medium tack was just too….”medium”. Nightmare when you are 12 ft up the side of a truck.

As i said before, i`ve tired a fair few over the years and Conform has always been the best, in my opinion.

    HI
last 2 logs from cherwell did’t pick up small letters well
this 2 logs picks up the letters well but curls up when wet
same name and numbers on logs
dont seem to mater whether you spend £40 or £60 a log no consistency

NO experience of any other brand but I got some PerfecTear when I bought my first logs of vinyl and it seems good to me. A bit toooo sticky for my liking sometimes, if it so much as touches itself you havent got a chance of separating it.

Thanks guys – I took all your advice and tried the Oracal one and the first log I had was fine – but the second was dire! I questioned wether they had sent the right one – it was definately different but apparently not! They said it was the same???? Just as I put the phone down – the wife bought me the post (along with a cuppa! – thats her way of contributing!) and there was a flier about K-Tape appy paper for £47.95 log from that KPMF Direct company. I rang them and asked for sample roll and I got one next day! I have read the previous threads about the squeegee incident and I must admit I did think twice but I cant fault them! I ordered a log and it was fine. The second logs just turned up and its the same as the first (which is a bonus!) Just goes to show – every company has its weakness – mine is the fact I am always late!!!!

Just going back a bit to Signdevil’s trouble with
Paper Co. Also let down this week, had been repeatedly pestered by
sales people ringing up, so relented and ordered a roll of Orajet printing
vinyl told it would be next day – next day out of stock and it would have to come from Germany 10 days delivery – 10 days later no sign – rang up – another 10 days – no sign – rang again – told it had been sat on a shelf in the warehouse for 7 days and they hadn’t got round to sending it out!!!!!
‘Now that is great service for you’ 👿 👿
