Just had a customer in who wants the panel in his new combo overlaid yellow. Whats the best way to get a good fit into the recess. he don’t want us to cut the vinyl on the van. One side has a sliding door with extra recesses. Do you make a template? or can you lay a cutting strip under the vinyl.
it’s probably a 5 min job for some of you but any advice would be apreciated.

I assume 751 vinyl would be ok.

    Cheers

I would make a template by applying application tape over the area you want the vinyl to fit. Then use a pencil to trace out on the tape the shape of the panel. Having done this, remove the application tape and stick it over a sheet of vinyl and cut the shape out with a scissors or a craft Knife. Easy peasy and very quick.

I use this a lot to blank out the rear windows on vans. I used to try and trim the vinyl to size on the glass but find this way is much neater quicker and easier. 😀
