    Hi Team,
I know you’ve all been wondering what I ended up doing with the banner fixed to the pub brick wall, well I bought some TAP WASHERS!!!! & used metal washers on top of them, worked a treat!! See photo.

    Cheers,

    Steve (Tap Washer) Thurlow 😆

I’ll add the plumbing aisle to my list of interest for the next trip to the trade centre then 😀 Imaginative idea Steve, now all we need is a bizarre yet well timed joke from John and this thread is complete 😉 Been racking my brains (which hurts a little 😕 ) trying to prempt the obligatory wise crack but I lack both the intellect and wit, I’m just not up to the job 😕

Btw is that one of those banana banner things or did you make it? And if its not too rude of me to ask, what did you charge for that?

    Cheers, Dewi

    Thanks Guys,

Dewi, this is a Bannerbox 3mt x 620mm premier banner.
This banner was part of ongoing sign work I’m doing for the pub, also I know the Landlord very well so the cost was £80+vat AND a slap up Sunday lunch for four of us, Yum Yum. 😆

    Cheers, Steve

Thanks Steve 😀 I’ve never even had my greasy mitts on a banner, let alone touched one with vinyl, but I’m looking forward to having a lash at it. If I charged about £99 for a banner of that size, am I about right on price?

    Cheers, Dewi

Sounds like you got a pretty good deal there Steve. We’d have done a banner that size for 80 quid without the extra’s, and thats digital print !!!
About time I put them prices up hey !

Great job Steve glad you sorted the problem, and an ingenious way too.

It looks like one of those shiny banners? We started getting these late last year and I found it really difficult to apply to without bubbles! (I had to resort to a fine spray of water(sorry Rob 😳 )to get a perfect result). Before that we had matt finish banners, and they were easy, did, or have you had any experience like this?

    Cheers

Just seen this Steve thanks to Carries referring

    Brilliant idea
Stops the metal washer tearing at the banner

So that’s what they mean when they said take a decent tap washer with you to hang a banner. I took Cif (Jif) with me.
Didn’t do much to hold the banner up but managed to clean up a few scuff marks

    Hi Carrie & John,
Thanks for comments, this little banner job seems so long ago now 🙄

Just to report I check the state of the banner on a regular basis :drink4: and after 7 months of extreme Suffolk weather it’s still looking fine. (and the Trad Roast Dinner is still Only £6.95 😮 )
(But sadly the Stella now costs a staggering £2.70 a pint, thank goodness I only drink tap water :yikes: )

    Cheers, Stevie :drums:

    only £2.70.

£2.80 in my local….. If have asked the landlord when my share certificate will be arriving. 🙄

    The pleasures of SE England.

guess Robs still paying about 50p a pint.

    Tim.
