    Hi All

Was doing a websearch last neight as I wanted to create a custom dash for my new Celica GT-Four and then spent 4 hours on the site – very informativre and a great place for mutual benefit I think.

I am a director of a personalised branding company (see http://www.b2-uk.com) which speiclaises in personalised clothing and specialist laser engraving products, such as re-manufacturing anodised alumium tax disc holders, Zippo lighters and Maglites tro name a few. We deal with all sorts of clients from M&S and John Lewis Partnership through to gift houses and agencies for the like of Orange. Although relevetivly new to the branding arena, my background was in corporate IT for 10 years perviosuly, where I spent most of my time managing IT departments and designing call centres for MOD, Orange, Tesco and Halifax . Learning a lot of high end corporate structure has worked really well for us a a small (10 staff) company.

We do all work in-house including embroidery design and punching, as we dont like relying on external companies to work to deadlines – I think the addage, if you want a job done properly do it yourself goes a long wat in business today.

Anywhere I think I’ve bored everybody here senseless so Ill stop blowing myu own trumpet and see what help and advise I can offer if and when required.

Best wishes and a great new year to all.

    John

Welcome to the site! and Happy New Year,

The naming of companies like chemical equations seems to be gaining momentum. 🙂

We started a company in the early 80’s doing film and tour catering, sold it in 97, but they call themselves C2 like second variation http://www.couscous.se there is also a training/gym chain up here called E2 http://www.e2.nu

Just a little observation…I am sure you are most welcome!

I am just a sign writer.
    BUT
    I am from Pennsylvania
    Maybe 100 miles from Bradford
    where Zippos are made!
There is a big lighter on the roof of their factory!
    Woo Hoo!
    (hot)
    SMOKIN’!
    Love Jill

B2 was named very simply as at the time when we started the company we were one of a handful of companies in the UK for latex and mylar automatic balloon printing, we then had a call for a multinational wanting 50,000 t-shirts – or course the answer was “yes” as you do – and the company gradually changed from balloons to clothing hence B for balloons and branding and No. 2 for them – well it seamed a good idea at the time.

Then we got the H2 credit card from Halifax, then Cellnet changed their name to O2 – I think we must have had the right idea if the nationals are doing it with their massive marketing budgets !!![/quote]

Thanks for explaining….living over here I had no idea about the other UK companies doing similar things…it just amused me.

Are you from Devon or moved there? I was born in Tavistock

Harry – thanks for the comments – I went through 4 agencies to get the site right – take a look at ww.mytaxdisc.com – this is our latest e-commerce site which we managed to launch in 3 weeks!

Tavistock is only round the corner, the office is in Newton Abbot. Moved to Devon many years ago when my parents retired down here. My drive from home to thje office takes me up the Teign past Shaldon and the sea – nice views – oh how DONT miss the London ratrace and M25!
