can anyone help please with Adobe Type Manager & fonts?
Posted by Lorraine Buchan on 18 November 2003 at 09:54All of a sudden, well last night actually, I opened a file in FlexiSign which uses the Adobe Helvetica font. It now says the font is missing, although it’s still listed in Type manager. Infact none of the the adobe fonts are showing in flexisign or corel any one got any ideas??

What OS are you running , fonts in 98 suck big time , you can often “repair” the font files (I think in a section under accesories/system info) or at worst you have to do a full windows install over your old version – which becomes a major mission.
XP pro etc is a lot better – you can prolly just reinstall your fonts.
This might be a flexi thing and not a bloze problem tho – Im assuming its a windows thingy. -
Running Windows XP home.
All other fonts are still there but not the Adobe ones even though they show up in Type manager

Have a look here Lorraine,
[Start] [Settings] [Control Panel] [Fonts]
[Tools] [Folder Options] [True Type Fonts] make sure the [Show only True Type fonts] is NOT ticked.

If for some reason [Show only True Type Fonts] as been turned on they will still show in ATM but will not be available in any windows program.

Yes they will still be in the Fonts folder and Adobe Type Manager.
Check the setting in the fonts folder as above. If that doesn’t work do a system restore to the latest backup prior to loosing the fonts.

Show only true type fonts wasn’t turned on, i uninstalled and re-installed still nothing, it was strange digging out the floppy!
I went to the adobe web site and brought an upgrade, yahoooooo, all is well again!
