Mactac RGB values
Hi!
Anyone have the RGB values for simulating Mactac vinyl colors?
(Macmark 9800, 8900, 8300 series).
I would like create a Mactac CorelDraw color palette. 😉Thanks!

Have you tried scanning in the Mactac colour swatch card,
Adjust the brightness, contrast of the scan till it looks ok on screen.
Then you use the color pick up / eyedropper tool to select each colour and make up the pallete to be saved. -

scanning is good idea, but my scanner is not calibrated correctly.
If it’s possible, I want make an “official” Mactac palette (e.g. with original RGB-values from Mactac). 😉I tryed match Mactac colour swatch card to RGB values with my Pantone colour reference guide, but the result isn’t perfect.

They are there in Signlab if you use it Barna.

Why would you want to do that ? have you colour calibrated the monitor to simulate the vinyl or color calibrated the the printer? If you haven’t it’s a waste of time unless you print it – even if you print it RGB does not translate 100% to cmyk at all and even if you HAVE colour calibrated your monitor – the only thing you can do is show customers on YOUR Screen – theirs won’t display correctly if you send em a pic unless they have calibrated theirs with respect to ambient light etc.
My rep will give me as many brochures and colour swatches as I want – much easier to show that to the customer then try simulate vinyl colours on screen. -

Not for proofing! If I have a Mactac-Corel palette, and I open a document some years later, I can see which vinyls we used. Certainly it helps me to work/design faster.
Unfortunately, I am a maximalist, therefore I would like make a good palette. 😉 -
in signlab the file ending is .pal can these go into corel if
so i can email them to you -
Ah ok , I understand – thought you were doing colour proofing for clients etc. does your sign program have a data base attached ? What we do is enter the invoice with full descriptions in our accounts program and have a file for each job attached to the job (signlab) with extensive descriptions of colours , materials , pricing etc cos a lot of jobs we normally store as outlines without fills and so forth.

we use CorelDraw for sign design, I suppose so it not supports databases, but your technology gives me many ideas.
