Fineline converting
Posted by Malcolm on 15 October 2003 at 07:49Anybody know the current situation re the demise of Fineline Converting.
Has the company been bought with the intention of starting up again, if so by who.?

Graphicraft bought the whole lot. I don’t know how much of Fineline’s services they intend to provide, but I know they are trying to get the Police livery work. (At least I’LL never have to digitise another bloody Police car!)
What were you looking for, I’m sure someone on here could point you to an alternative supplier.

Fineline used to make ” custom” (ie to our spec.) prespaced rolls for us. Up to a maximum total width of around 120mm.
I thought we had found a new source. But the first two batches we have received are not up to the old Fineline standard.
So looking for an alternative supplier again.
Very very reluctant to go to Graphicraft.
Other alternative… buy machine to make our own.
But economics questionable, as the only machines I have so far found are new and cost arounds £30K.
Would really like simple* secondhand machine.without all the bells and whistles
*So I can run it.!
A great shame about Fineline….nice people.

Mainly due to being reluctant to give business to a competitor.
