Heres a question for Dave – we print a great deal of Pantone colours and normally buy the super cmyk foil cartridges from Spandex because their cartridges produce an accurate colour match, how close a match will the Reknown cartridges produce. I ask because I am just about to place an order for cmyk cartridges with Spandex, we buy all spot colours from you liking the product and the price.

    Hi Martin
I’ve been out of the office this AM – Sorry I havn’t replied earlier. I see you were working late last night – your post was at 6.30ish!

    CMYK Colour Matching:

I believe you will find it difficult to tell any 2 Pantone COLOUR MATCH prints apart, comparing ANY brand of CMYK foils to OEM. That is to print just that single colour – and make a comparison. They are all designed to accurately print such references, Sign Foils, DuraCoat or Renown, and all should be equal to OEM in that accuracy when considering just that – matching to a particular colour reference …..
Comparing a complete CMYK picture print:
Some folks will say that some final CMYK picture prints from DuraCoat are ‘Flat’ (I’ve got to admitt I don’t understand that comment)
Some folks say that Sign Foils have a greenish tint,
I beliece ALL compatible brands are accused of printing lighter than OEM
    So …
If your are to reproduce a previous job – you would need to check colour for potentialy darker adjustments.

Other than that – you save by using Renown!

Are you printing on Edge 1 or Edge 2 ?
    Best Regards Dave Standen

Thanks for the reply Dave, alot of my work will be repeats and most customers would not notice a slight colour difference, will have to give it a try. Printing on the edge 1 hoping to upgrade to the edge 2 next year sometime

    Hi Martin
Order what you wish – Try them out.
If you like – you’ll pay, and if you don’t like you don’t pay!
    Can’t be fairer than that!

Edge 2 – December will reveal a new HiRes CMYK set for Edge 2 to take advantage of the 600dpi quality mode. Something new to look forward too!
    Best Regards Dave Standen
