    Hi all,

Anybody got any views on the Signart Nautilus print & cut (24″) ???

Looks like a bargain at about edge price, although I don’t know about reliability / warranty / running costs ???

Just been taking a look around for you Sparky, (seeing as i’ve not really got a lot to do at the mo except tie up lose ends). The only page i could find with running costs belonged to a company of an antipodean nature. Out comes the calculator to convert Aussie Dollars (Plastic Money, how strange ๐Ÿ˜• ) in to good old sterling.

If my calculations are correct running costs are just under ยฃ12 per sq.m, making it less than half the cost of running an Edge.

I’m also very keen on this machine as i think alot of others are, but there just doesn’t seem to be enough info about!

I wonder if there are any grafityp people on the boards??

Also might be an angle for a discount??

    thanks for the replies u2,

Marty, Good info if it’s accurate, I did read something somewhere but assume that the true running costs might be +50% ๐Ÿ™‚ Will look for the link to the Aussie site, not seen that (?)

Lorraine. Gt’s sales manager (neil Stevenson) is a user of the boards but I sent an email to them last week asking for more info & not had a reply yet ……….. maybe they remember me from my bi-monthly trips to the repairs dept with my lynx cutter ๐Ÿ˜† ๐Ÿ˜† ๐Ÿ˜† ๐Ÿ˜†

i’m just looking deep into it before making any commitment, it will certainly have to have some decent warranty / backup if it’s from the signpal stable which i think it is (?)

Come on Mr. Stevenson where are you when ya needed ๐Ÿ˜€ ๐Ÿ˜€

Sorry to take so long to answer your questions on the GCC SignArt Nautilus.
The 610mm wide Nautilus is the latest addition and I think it will be the most popular.
They use thermal resin technology which gives outdoor life of 3-5 years.
It also prints CMYK ribbons at the same time, and at present we have 7 spot colours.
The most important things with these machines are,
    Cost to buy?
    Cost to run?
We believe we have set the buying costs at a very attractive price, and the running cost depends on what material you print on. This is because the Nautilus can print onto many different materials.
The lowest cost is under ยฃ9 per square meter.
To show how this was calculated please see below

    4 x resin ribbons at ยฃ8.45 each
these are 90m long with a 50mm print width
    90 x 50mm = 4500mm (4.5m)

    4 x ยฃ8.45 = ยฃ33.80 รท 4.5 =ยฃ7.52 per m
    Plus your material cost
3 year white Promo series =ยฃ1.43
Total cost ยฃ8.95 per sq m

The next thing to do is work out how much that will save you over some other machines per meter, then times it by how many meters you expect to print per year proberbly at least a 1000. this should be a very big saving on running costs every year.

GCC machines are easily the most reliable I have ever sold in my 14+ years selling sign making equipment.
Many people have not yet taken notice of our high quality at a great price range of cutting plotters, although we do have a couple of thousand users in the UK who have, and many are 2nd and 3rd time buyer of GCC products.

Hope this answers some of your questions

    Best regards

Would be interested to see this machine demonstrated. What kinda areas are you able to cover for demonstrations Neil and what kind of lead in times do you need etc?.

Perhaps we could organise a UKSG demo somewhere?.

    Just thinking out loud ๐Ÿ™‚

    John,

Whilst Neil has the phone permanently glued to his ear I thought I’d reply on his behalf…
The warranty on the SignArt Nautilus is on-site.

    Rod,

All our machines are on display and available for demo in our showroom, but will mention your suggestion to Neil.

    Kind regards,

    Thanks Debbee.

Looks like it might be just the machine for a small signshop, perhaps call soon to arrange a demo at tamworth

Neil…I received your issue 15 today and noticed the 610 & the 900 model

    Questions?

Whats the overall dpi printing of the machines
Are they the same except for size
what is the overall width of the machine…(it looks about 1800mm)
Do you do a package for the 610 & 655 laminator?
(If not why not?) Oh an Add in a EC26?
    Do you do Finance?

    thanks

    Hi guys,

    Answering on Neil’s behalf again…

    Mark –
    610mm Nautilus, 304dpi and the 900mm at 300dpi.
    The dimensions (W x H x D) of the 610mm machine are 2200 x 820 x 1250 (mm).
With regard to a laminator package, we don’t actually offer one but could if required. The reason being that the Nautilus is a thermal resin printer and there’s no need to laminate unless you really want lots of extra protection.
We do offer finance subject to status.
    What is an EC26?

    Neil –
The answer regarding Signlab is – No, not yet, but it is supplied with it’s own RIP software free of charge. Also, if you take the SignArt Nautilus challenge via our website theres the opportunity to obtain the Scanvec Amiable PHOTOPRINT SE software which will also drive it (amongst other goodies) if you were to buy a Nautilus.

    Mark,

Sorry, blonde moment! It occurred to me that you were probably referring to the Rotatrim EC26…
