  • where can i get usb-serial convertor for mac G4?

We have a customer that has a G4 Mac, he bought Flexicut & a Graphtec CE-2000.

Unfortunately I know enough about Mac’s to fill a small postage stamp. Apparently it needs USB-Serial Convertor? as macs no longer have a serial port 🙄 I have been told a cable & adapter will cost in the region of £175!

I know not many here use Mac’s, but does anybody know where I can point him to get 1 cheaper?

I can vouch for the Keyspan USB serial adaptor. We use them on the iMacs that run our cutters. They are also useful for connecting any other legacy serial gear your customer might have, such as Palm PDAs, graphics tablets etc etc.

Plug and play. No set-up or configuration. Idiot proof.

If he hasn’t already bought the Flexicut, which I found unnecessarily complicated and tedious to use, he could look at Cutline from http://www.illom.se

if you need to know anything else please ask and I will help if I can.

    Thanks for that chaps.

I think he has used Flexi before John, also now Graphtec are selling it with their cutters you can get a pretty good deal with it bundled with a machine.
