curtain siders contract
Hi guys,
Have been asked to do 16 trailers 45ft long. The logo is 9ft high x 9ft thereabouts maybe a little bigger long 2 colour in vinyl, customer wont pay for ink, any suggestions of anyone who could do the logo and us to fit. As my graphtec is only 610 it would take me a year to cut it out 😮 .I’m in two minds whether to just say no I cant do it, or see if someone else could cut the logo out.

If you like we will happily cut the vinyl for you on a 1220 machine. To keep as much of the job, and therefore the profit, in your hands you could supply the material and weed and tape it. we could just cut it for you.

I’d be interested to know what you charge for cutting, i only have a 500mm plotter so it only cuts around 480mm and i sometimes have a call for larger graphics which i would like cut as one piece. This is generally once in a blue moon but if it ever came up it would be nice to keep the work in the group. Thanks

Thanks John for your reply. If you could give me some idea on prices, cause I also get a lot of work with larger sizes. The last graphic I did for this company was in one colour and 9ft high x 5ft wide and I did it in around 8 pieces that was without the text that went with it which was 3 ft high x 24ft long.

Good questions, to which I don’t really know the answers.
Doing it the way I suggested above, then from our point of view it is purely a matter of time and therefore an hourly rate would be appropriate, so it will all boil down to complexity of design and how long it is going to take us.
I realise that this answer is useless and falls into the “how long is a piece of string” category but if you would like to email me the files I’ll take a look and come up with a definite fixed price.
