MemberMay 13, 2010 at 2:12 pm in reply to: how would I go about fitting sign above a fence?hmmm i wasn’t sure about putting my own posts in as wouldn’t that just be duplicating the posts that are already in the ground?
do the fencing posts not have a structurally sound footing that would be good enough?

personally a few years ago i received a call from someone claiming to be from my mobile phone company….they used the ‘for data verification’ ruse
i gave them an incorrect statement
they said they would get one of their advisers to call me when they were free to do so to clarify my wonderful deal
an hour later i got a call
the person said that the information i gave didn’t match ….no shit sherlock, i asked exactly who were they? they again said my mobile phone name….i asked if you are my mobile company then why didn’t you know i had given false details at the time i gave them?
they then asked me to verify who i was again
i told them to verify who they were first
their answer? we cannot divulge private information….i told them again you know who your ringing now prove who you are
they hung up
caller number withheld
personally i think that all companies should have a password that only you would know so they can verify who they were first, not foolproof by any means but a start in the right direction

about a year ago my mother in law (70+) got a phonecall
the callers stated they were from barclaycard and her payment had not been recieved, she told them she had paid as usual by cheque, they insisted they hadnt recieved payment and she must pay now by card or recieve late payment fees
she was sending my son upstairs to get her handbag when i interviened
i took the phone off her and hung it up
i then had to explain that she should never ever give out details over the phone from a random call
alas her barclaycard statement came when it was due with no late payment fees

thanks for the replies 😀

i used a company called tennants for my chevron kits
just googly google it
-
dagnabit!!! must try harder lol
-
I wont name and shame them just yet as i have managed to speak to someone from the franchise company
they are at least willing to look into the situation and see if they can work out a solution
so rather than name and shaming them i may end up promoting them for going above and beyond.
fingers crossed
-
i like the idea of those thanks
-
well at least one person liked it lol

i found this site
maybe a phone call would see if they had blanks?
http://www.oaklandamenity.co.uk/#/twins … 4525643897
The twin spike course etiquette signs are made from 3mm steel With a highly durable stove enamelled finish. A vinyl graphic is then applied with the text of your choice. Club Crest included as standard.
not sure of size tho

quote Dave Rowland:Well I started getting into Joomla, alternative to wordpress route but Joom does help a fair bit but may take a learning curve to learn it.
im also learning joomla from scratch
not exactly easy but i am getting there in the end
making the map extention show more than one address is a little difficult but what the hell, if you cant learn something new then you will get bored too easily

here is a job i did last year in brushed steel letters on a burgundy background
-
another thing to look for is the interior of the shop/showroom
if its all painted white with bright lighting then the white text struggles to show up
but i agree with the above that the brighter colours are usually the best but pick a colour which will stand out against the interior too

i just use a gmail account

i still have the bug hugh and play regularly
tv times for the weekend
17th-25th November 2007
ITV1 and ITV4. The afternoon sessions of Saturday 17th and Sunday 18th and the semi-finals and finals on 24th & 25th September (also afternoon broadcasts) will be shown live on ITV1. The rest of the tournament will be shown live on ITV4.
Winmau World Masters 2007
Saturday 17 November, 1300-1630 BBC ONE and BBC Sport website
Sunday 18 November, 1330-1715 BBC TWO and BBC Sport websiteyes hugh the game has become much more proffessional in the last 10 yrs or so, smoking and drinking have not been allowed on the televised stages for many years now and is even banned from floor events (while playing)
the new modern darts players are treating it much more serious and the average fitness of a dart thrower is higher than in the past & the demands and rigours required to compete at the top level requires more determination

mine wasnt a spelling mistake as such but we did a car showroom window many years ago for a brand new nissan micra at a scoop of £89995

when i took my son to look at his next school the teacher was highly impressed with his latest acquisition….a vinyl plotter, on hearing how i was a sign maker he gleefully asked if i wouldn’t mind donating some materials to them so they could teach the children how to use the machine…..
not bloody likely…..kill my own future business by flooding the market with competition and using the stuff that i had paid for?
i respectfully declined the offer

Be sure to check that the vinyl is for exterior use.
Love….Jillthis is the reason i want to find the steel (or whatever it is) withe the effect in it rather than just vynil applied

MemberFebruary 7, 2006 at 12:53 pm in reply to: holographic flat cut/moulded letter supplier?cheers macky….i did think of this but the customer got a bad deal with her last sign……someone sold her a sign for external with gold chrome lettering and alas it didnt last too long before the text was invisible…..

i have also found that customers want signs made with the top materials……ie digi printing flat cut letters folded substrates etc etc then run at the price and a couple of weeks later u hear they had the job done for half the price……when you see he job ….no flat/moulded letter no fancy substrates no digi printing…….. just a bog standard foam/vynil sign…….. damn i could a done that for that price 😮
-
hmmm im not much of an expert either
but a few things come into my mind
why not just buy the banners ready done?
are you printing them so need it to be flat when doing so?
are you going to hem/weld the edges for extra strength?dont know if these questions are relevant but you dont want your banner just to fall down 😛
-
just an idea for the main forum layout
some areas cannot be accessed by me as i dont have special priveledges or summat
could these main forum buttons have something extra on them so i know what i can / cannot acces (colour change / icon)
i get forgetfull with all the different boards here and end up just clicking thro them all, and its slightly frustrating to not get in some
-
