Hope that makes sense.

It travels north from central Qld on a large voltage spine then U-turns and heads south along the coast. Apparently the southern section is down.

MemberJanuary 21, 2011 at 10:15 pm in reply to: Aussie members: how are you coping with the disastersBugger….We just had a second flood event, it went from 6" to over 3′ in less than an hour, all with no rain here it must have really pelted down in the catchment. Gloria got trapped on the other side and I traveled down to the edge of the rapids sideways in the car fortunately it hung up on a large rock tilted at about 30 degrees. Strange feeling opening the door and having feet of water flow in.Managed to get to shore and collected the tractor & neighbor then we pulled it out. Only slight damage to the clutch large damage to the pride and excessive damage to ear drum very late on the next day. seemed to coincide with getting my good lady across on the tractor. Boy life sure isn’t dull.

I started to read the thread and scrolled down to the first picture and thought ouch! I really don’t like that, not like Jill’s usual work 😳 I was greatly relieved when I scrolled to the second picture.
Really nice Jill -
Thanks everybody.
As you can tell I am really, really chuffed. They tried for 6 years and had just had the initial interview with the IVF people, an appointment was made for June & in the mean time try this day, this day & this day, all three days must have worked. We all live on the same property our houses are 150 meters apart so for us life is sure changing. I had forgotten how tiny babies can be.

Hi john
I have to ask, How did you know all that?
Did you google it or do you just like bridges.
cheers Mike 😮 -
All the best intentions and all that…. Mike and Harry have both pricked my conscience, so I’ll do it this weekend.
Get away with you Shane.
The real reason is it’s the only sign your allowed to lift 😀 -
Yes they can be but Since my poor old Mom passed away I think I would trade places with you any day. 😀

Hi Shane
Glad everything went Ok.
We have a large septic tank lid to move & as you don’t seem to be doing anything is there any chance you could drop bye and give us a hand.
thanks Mike 🙂 -
yes Shane The creek has been borderline flooded for the last 10 days. Sounds like a fast moving freight train as it flows down the rapids, we cross just at the top of the rapids about 60cm deep and pushes the car sideways as we go across, really gets the heart rate up.
Glad to hear Jason survived ok.
Cheers Mike 😀 -
OK Phill, since Mike is to polite to ask How on earth did you find that??????
cheers Mike 😀 😀 -
You should ask Shane about their weather over the last few days.
That’s provided he can write whilst under water. On the other hand he could move here same temp but much less rain.😀

Several of the inmates would stand about 2-3 inches away and stare at you or worse still would scream obscenities at you they were so close the spittle would hit you in the face.
One day with my arms full I was sexually groped. The young lady patients were always getting pregnant. clothing was removed and found scattered all around the exercise area. I used to hate Tuesday’s. All in all it was a very scary delivery and one I still remember 35 years later -

MemberJanuary 26, 2010 at 12:06 am in reply to: No wonder this country is in a mess!Hi David
Interesting how things can be interpreted Here to have a job on the side or a sideline activity just means it’s not your primary income. Can mean it’s dishonest, not accounted for or on the record. But can just as easily mean it’s not my main activity, often the difference is the tone or facial expression used upon delivery.
As I am from the UK originally I was referred to as a Pommie Bast**d by all & sundry, Sometimes it was a term of great friendship but sometimes it meant we were going to have a punch-up. Same words just delivered differently.

We have never tried to laminate a large print or any print for that matter we have always subbed out our large prints. Ir you can afford to stuff up the print, give it a try. Have a few practice runs first as there does appear to be a knack to getting it just right.

MemberDecember 21, 2009 at 1:10 am in reply to: What do you think of the new handy laminators???I’ve had a set for several years . What Rob said is pretty spot on. great for app tape and flood coating 1200 x 2400 sheets.we have used them on the job to redo a sign that needed redoing ( Not ours) and found it a bit awkward in confined yet large areas. Gloria’s son used ours to flood coat several hundred meters of glass awning, worked a treat mind you he is 6 foot 7 inches and about 100 feet across the shoulders,He used to row for Australia came third in the junior Olympics and as strong as an oxen. which all helps when doing large areas.they seem to be very popular in the states.

sorry to appear really Dumb, but what are we talking about?
Were sign makers in the UK allowed to make car number plates?
In Australia we can only get them from government dept. The plates are aluminum with reflective backgrounds & numbers. They are made in the prison system as one of the forms of work available, Given that a lot of them are there for car theft I find this slightly amusing, it has also become a good source of extra money as you can order plates with all sorts of sayings logos or number combinations. In NSW the plain jane ones cost $37.00 but the high end ones can run in to $800 or more.
cheers to all & A very merry Christmas

MemberDecember 16, 2009 at 9:32 pm in reply to: At last – Climate change – the truth?Hi Gavin
I am not really sure what your last paragraph is saying, however I don’t think age comes into it I believe it says a a lot more about the actual subject. I don’t know what happens in UK but herein Australia any reasonable debate has been choked, the government states this is what is happening so just trust us. Only one paper that I have seen has run both sides of the debate and that was only in the last few weeks after numerous surveys indicated that the majority of people were starting to ask questions. Both sides presented a good case with the pro climate change scientists tending to suggest Armageddon was the result if you don’t believe us, they also all had their hands in the public money tin. Since 1990 intergovernmental panel on climate change have spent $100 billion Dollars on research and to this day no scientific paper exists that demonstrates that the late 20th century or the past ten years of cooling for that matter, fall outside the rates and magnitudes of the past (geological) climate change. With regard to carbon dioxide the early earths atmosphere contained about 30% carbon dioxide it was once the major gas in the atmosphere, it is now only a trace gas.To me the whole debate lacks clarity & honesty. But it has become a massive cash cow to a large group of world leaders and companies all wrapped up in a feel good package, if you speak against the concept you are immediately branded as uncaring, stupid or just plain old.
cheers Mike -

Hence the obscene grab for cash masquerading as a feel good climate change package.
Our Government doesn’t want to debate its solution, Despite the fact that it seems it would render us totally incapable of competition in any commercial way, with any nation on this planet.

MemberDecember 10, 2009 at 8:11 am in reply to: gerber edge users ever had this problem?Hi Matt
Omega 3 may help as they have a new feature that allows you to move the foils very slightly to the left or right.
Is your problem happening at the top and bottom or only on the sides if that makes sense? If it’s only the sides then the length of foil more than likely is the problem. which may also explain the 2 different results with red. As I understand it both foils must have the same length left on the roll.

MemberNovember 6, 2009 at 7:40 am in reply to: How to use and look after a mug pressHi John & Gorden
the 8 seconds count down starts when the mug reaches 180. May be that’s the difference. All I know is that we have had no problems at all and we have done hundreds of mugs. everybody chokes when we tell them but for us it works maybe it is the warm up factor that we don’t include but others do. when we load a cold mug the temp drops to 128 and then starts to warm up when it reaches 180 the machine starts the count down (8 seconds) and then beeps like hell at us.I have never timed exactly how long the mug is in the press for but I will try to remember to do that next time.

Most strange of all we only use 180 degree for 8 seconds no problems at all and some mugs have been used for 18months with dishwasher etc.
I know this is really different to any body we have spoken to but when we started that’s the info we were given and has worked.

Hi Warren
The guides that the flanges track in have a rubber ring on them that causes the friction to keep the guides in place if those rubber rings have split that may contribute to your problem as the guides are then free to move with little to no Resistance. Mine split after about 3 years so it may be worth a look.

MemberNovember 4, 2009 at 10:08 pm in reply to: Summa Cutter, What am I doing wrong?Hi Neil.
Bit late I know but only just read your post. Mine does the same thing which i then ignore and just proceed as normal. It seemed to start after an upgrade to win-cut that I installed doesn’t seem to cause any problems other than 1 extra key press and occasionally words to the effect "Oh that’s B*llshi*" which the Summa completely ignores but I feel better. I know that doesn’t help you much but a misery shared is a problem halved.

We have been watching the woolies ads for quite some time and not once did Apple Computers leap in to my or my families minds. Some times these companies give me the S*its it appears in their tiny minds I just can’t think for myself and would immediately get confused by the smallest detail. MacDonald’s fast food took a small local rugby team to court because they had mac something on their behinds the team were sponsored by a lawyer called MacBrite. He won because he could trace his ancestry back several hundred years in Scotland, seems Maccas’ couldn’t do the same.

Hi Jane
We have done air brush tattoo’s at markets etc. over several years now.
We normally use normal masking vinyl from Avery or Mactac. when needed ( desperate) we have used normal mactac 9800 with good results. The 9800 can only be used once but the masking vinyl can be used several times, we have also used sandblast vinyl.
cheers Mike -
Hi Chris
Actually we are doing them at 180 degrees for 7 sec. and yes they do come out ok. since we have never done them any other way I am not sure what difference we should expect.

we have been using this program for about 2 years, it was fairly simple to set up for Australia and makes quoting very straight forward.
