Man found dead in County Durham sign factory

A man who tragically lost his life in an incident at a sign factory in County Durham has been identified as Nigel Brooks, 45, from Stanley. Mr Brooks died on August 27 while working at the Interplan Sign Systems facility located on Hownsgill Drive in Consett.

Emergency services were called to the scene after Mr Brooks’ body was discovered at the factory. Reports indicate that he was involved in an incident with a piece of machinery, where he became trapped in industrial equipment. The circumstances surrounding his death remain unclear, prompting detectives to classify the case as “unexplained.”

In response to this tragedy, a joint investigation has been initiated by local authorities and the Health and Safety Executive to determine the exact causes of the incident and ensure that appropriate safety measures are in place.

Interplan Sign Systems Limited, was established in 1985 and located in Consett, County Durham.
