PUMA Logo – Did you know?

In the early 1980s, Puma hired the well-known graphic designer Otl Aicher to create a new visual identity for the 1984 Olympics. He designed a modern wordmark and a circular logo with a leaping puma, reflecting his trademark geometric style. However, after turning down a 10,000 mark offer from Puma CEO Armin Dassler, Aicher left, and the designs were never used.
However, in 2022, Puma celebrated Aicher’s legacy with the “PUMA HEROES” collection. This collection honours his iconic pictograms created for the 1972 Munich Olympics. The 13-piece range includes tees, shorts, and hoodies. It was released to mark his 100th birthday and the 50th anniversary of his Olympic designs.
