Grafityp acquired by UPM Raflatac

Grafityp reaches an important milestone in its growth strategy thanks to the acquisition by Finland’s UPM Raflatac, part of UPM, a leading provider of self-adhesive paper and film products.

This acquisition offers significant opportunities to accelerate growth and increase business value through the expansion of Grafityp’s customer base, production facilities and innovative product offering. Both parties have agreed not to disclose the purchase price or other details of the transaction.

“We eagerly look forward to the promising future this partnership will bring us. The UPM Group shares our commitment to human values and sustainability. The complementarity of our two organisations is truly remarkable and we expect significant synergies as a result of this collaboration. It will accelerate our ambitious growth plans!” says Herman Bosman, owner of Grafityp.

Merging UPM Raflatac’s existing Graphics business with Grafityp will strengthen UPM Raflatac’s overall competitive position in this attractive product segment, expand its portfolio and provide access to high-quality new technologies.

“We are determined to become a complete supplier of products and services for graphics solutions. The merger of Grafityp with UPM Graphics accelerates our growth. Grafityp is a leading, innovative graphics company with a lot of know-how. We look forward to growing together and offering an even stronger product portfolio to our current and new customers,” Timo Kekki, senior vice president, UPM Raflatac Films and Specials.

UPM Graphics is a new strategic self-adhesive business unit within UPM Raflatac. The business was established following the acquisition of AMC AG and its graphics business in 2022. UPM Raflatac’s strategy is to grow the graphics business through organic and possibly inorganic measures to give it significant weight in the company’s product portfolio. Typical graphic applications can be found, for example, in indoor and outdoor advertising, signage and vehicle wrapping.
