I don’t router the channel mate. I use a very lightweight U-shape aluminium strip. screw it to the backing board and just slip the neon into it. if its exterior ide probably add a little blob of silicon here and there to make sure it’s fixed right. but what I use just now, holds great and easy to work with and do.
