One of my biggest clients here is one of the few companies in Australia that repairs these things after they are damaged.
I signed one last Monday after they did $100,000 worth of repairs, and it was only on site one day and got damaged again.
I was talking to the chief engineer and he tells me that in 99.9% of cases its the operator trying to do something with the crane that it was not designed for or lifting heavier loads than it was actually rated for….
Happens a lot too…. this company probably has a dozen cranes come in every month for repair.
Good business for me though 😉
