  • VS 540 Scan motor, Belt tensioner bearing?

    Hi guys,

Had a nightmare with our VS540 today. Got 1.5 meters into a print when the print head stopped with the Scan Motor Error 0080 0080. Tried cleaning the encoder strip to no joy, realised there seemed to be a lot of tension when trying to move the print head and a lot of noise from the scan motor end.

Anyway removed the covers both sides and realised it seemed to be one of the bearings that hold the belt which moves the print carriage had started to seize every now and again. Spent most of the day faffing with it until I finally got the belt off to find it appears to be the pulley on the right hand side that is directly connected to the scan motor.

Managed to get plenty of grease in there and eventually get the printer working but as were approaching our busiest period of the year i’m a bit worried if the bearing goes entirely it will kill our workflow entirely.

Don’t suppose anybody knows where to source these pulleys? or what the part number is at all?
