    Went to see Stephen Ingham yesterday and on my return down the Motorway had to divert one junction for traffic and the diversion led me past Peter and Lynns so I had to say hello – mm maybe I should have posted this in the say hello section 😕 anyway nice to see you both 😀

    Reminds me of a famous Scottish saying when guests arrived unexpectedly:-

    "How nice to see you, and you’ll have had your tea?"

    We do keep a few biscuits in a tin somewhere, probably a bit soggy.
    But we always have a warm welcome, for anyone from the boards.

    in Glasgow we call that a Head Buttie, so wouldn’t go down well as a welcome. 😉

    No Biccies – No Visit…..somebody has to make a stand!! 😀
    Over here ‘Buttie’ means somebody small, which makes Lynn’s offer a bit weird! 😀 😀

    I can vouch for the hospitality of the Normingtons.

    Here a buttie is what you sit on.
    And a common American saying for visitors is
    "Here’s your hat. What’s your hurry?"
