    Hi All

    Hope you are keeping well.

Has anyone got a Summa F-Series cutter at all? I’ve spoken to a rep about one but just wondered what your experiences were.. we do a mixture of foamex, long run stickers and long run roller banner and outdoor banners so we’d go roll-to-roll too. I’m fed up cutting on a keencut javelin (as great as it is) as it’s so slow and time consuming.

    Cheers

Thanks David. What substrates are you cutting and what model did you go for?

I’m seriously considering it but at nearly £60k it’s a big lump of cash!

we have the f1612 and i have cut vinyl on it and poly sheets but i know from tests it will easily cut 5ml foamex with the knife attachment and also if you opt for it it has router capabilities

Thanks David. Is it worth the money in your opinion? Would you do anything differently or puchase / not purchase certain parts or tools etc?

    Hi

We purchased a Kongsberg X series a few months back and we can’t praise it enough, conveyor version with the 3-tool multicut head including the router. Dearer than the F-series 16/12 but bigger and more capabilities – highly recommend taking a look. Whichever model/brand you go for within 24-hours you’ll be thinking how on earth did you ever manage without it. The performance of the Kongsberg is faultless, perfect, fast, trouble free – it’s intuitive to use and the overall quality and engineering of the unit is something to marvel at! (you can tell we like it)

In the last month we’ve cut over 4000 square metres of vinyl on it, 100’s of boards of correx / PVC, rolls and rolls of banner and poster and we’ve only just changed a blade. We’d have been working round the clock otherwise.

    Cheers

    Hi Dave

Thanks for the write up, that was very helpful. It’ll be financed over 5yrs and it actually saves getting another person so it does work out cheaper than employing.

Think I need to take the plunge. Just a lot of money, dearer than some houses!

Same reply as David but we have a Tekcel.

The only problem is it will create more work and not just signage so will end up employing someone else :smiles:

Go for it. Get router head as well tho.

Neil I’m the same looked at the Summa amazing piece of kit. Was told to look at other brands. Was all set to see them all at Fespa this year but sure that didn’t happen [emoji85][emoji85]

I just watched this fantastic machine Kongsberg X series on YouTube. Will this machine polish acrylic to final finish specs? Will this mean Kongsberg X series will do the same as laser will do?
