Summa Cutg D60/U stopped working alltogether

I have a summacut D60/u cutter and run signblazer 5 on XP computer. It was working fine before Christmas and then I went to cut some signs out and for some reason I cannot cut through signblazer it is not talking to summa. I have not changed anything on the computer or cutter so not sure what happened. I had a computer man come and have a look and he tried several things but to no avail. He downloaded and upgraded stuff and then tried a usb converter from a serial port but nothing happened and then all of a sudden their was no power to the summacut at all. Signblazer goes throught he motions of sending the info to summa but summa is not getting it can anyone help.
