Painted walls and vinyl
Okay here we go. Sent to a job in Cornwall with the understanding that all surfaces are painted. None are only have a mist coat. This is a huge project for a construction client. Client insists that other graphics firms have installed on this finish. Also the place is still a construction site, and I mean celings out walls unpainted, duct work going and bear concrete floors. My first instinct is nope go home and come back when they are properly ready but this has been booked for three weeks. So we do some non vinyl work for 3 days. They have then painted a section of wall for some 1m sq logos. First thing that happens is my low tack Frog tape removes some paint in a small test corner so I tell the site Forman, he says they will touch up and to carry on. Also the low tack application tape takes paint off. Then a get torn a new ****hole by the project manager as they have to repaint!!!!
We are then told to fir the vinyl to misted walls. We then get this finish after about 45 mins after application.
Metamark MD5 air release high tac. This was used as they couldn’t confirm if the paint being used was a low VOC despite my numerous requests.
I am today just wanting to go home and not come back.
