My nephew has taken to the skies like a bird, since going to California, and learning to sky dive.
Anyway he is doing a charity thing this weekend…
it is for a good cause if you are feeling generous, or just have a couple of quid to spare
"….so I’m doing this at the weekend:
I’d be jumping anyway, so I may as well be semi naked and raise some money! Anyone feel like sponsoring me? If you pledge enough I may even go
*completely* starkers….. 😉
It is to raise money for and awareness of testicular and prostate cancer
— a good cause, and one that is often under-represented in terms of charity fund-raising. This is from the website:
Each year, 25,000 men are diagnosed with prostate cancer in the UK and 10,000 die of the disease.
Testicular cancer mostly affects men between the ages of 20 and 35.
Brothers, fathers or sons of testicular cancer patients have up to a ten-fold increased risk of developing the disease themselves. More than 96 per cent of testicular cancer cases can be cured if caught at an early stage. Research into testicular and prostate cancer is under funded, despite the alarming number of cases each year.
You can pledge through the just giving website here
giving as much or as little as you want! "

I’m told it can be quite painful if dangley bits get trapped in the harness when the ‘chute opens!

That’s so very true Peter – Many years ago when I was younger (and dafter) Alison and I both did a sponsored Parachute jump at Strathallen Airfield in Perth. The jump was with a static line and we had one full days training to prepare. The only thing I wasn’t told was to ensure my harness did not go over any dangly bits (I guess they thought that was common sense)…..not to me it wasn’t *hair*
First thing I did once I got back onto the ground was to check no bits were missing or squashed -googleye- (oogle)

Naked sky dive?
I jumped a few years back and my cheeks were sore from the wind.
Imagine going completely in the nude.
I hope he tucks in his tackle. 😀
